Kumortuli
Kumortuli, in Kolkata is a mesmerizing hub where artisans breathe life into thousands of deities throughout the year. Having grown up immersed in Bengali festivals, I've always been fascinated by the intricate process of crafting these statues. What's more, Kumortuli's strategic location near the River Ganges plays a crucial role, as the river's clay-rich mud is skillfully used to mold these figures. Reflecting on it, I realize a significant part of my passion for sculpting traces back to the awe and inspiration I drew from this place.
